About Black Burn Lodge
We are situated on a beautiful corner site overlooking where the Black Burn and Liddel Water.
The Liddel Water is a well known fast flowing river famous for salmon and trout fishing. Black Burn Lodge is only a 10 minute walk to all the local amenities Newcastleton has to offer.
We have now been in Blackburn Lodge for six years and have loved every minute. We have made some great friends of our guests and are proud to announce that we have been awarded an accolade of excellence by Booking. com for our guest reviews over the past year.
We have gained 9.8 out of a possible 10! We have also made an appearance on Channel 4 in the programme ‘3 in a bed’, an interesting experience, but well worth a look as it showcased the house beautifully even if we didn’t win!
Michael will be in the front of the house to look after you and has expert local knowledge of the Scottish Borders history, he will enchant you with tales of the border Reivers and help you plan your trips around the area. He is also a keen walker and mountaineer with an intimate experience of wonderful walks in our area.
He can advise you where to go for a quiet stroll through the beautiful woodlands nearby or something a bit more challenging! A new bridge over the Liddel opened in April 2015, this allows direct access to the 7 Stanes cycle trails and all of the beautiful walks across the river.
