“Highway to Hermitage” – Eskdale & Liddesdale Advertiser
A recent article within the Eskdale & Liddesdale Advertiser,
“The film was made as part of an Audio visual for an exhibition focusing on Mary Queen of Scots, which The Borderland Musuem at Teviothead will be hosting in the Spring of 2024.
Much of the Volcanic landscape shot in the movie has never been filmed before, and includes Dark Sky time lapses, featuring star wheels and the passage of Moon.
The 8 minute movie is intended to raise the profile of the importance of the cultural heritage and History of this forgotten and endangered landscape, and to demonstrate the need for protected status…
Mary Queen of Scots is an international Female Icon, and this route could be preserved and developed as an incredible asset for the Borders.
The Queens Mire continues on from Hermitage castle as the Thieves road all the way down through Bewcastle to Hadrian’s wall.”
